Marie McGilvray: Home
Nashville based recording artist Marie McGilvray has been writing and performing her mysterious music since she was in her early teens. While her ethereal pop/alternative rock sound has been compared to Kate Bush, Sarah McLachlan, Portishead, and Enya, her writing style and reedy, airy vibrato voice offer an original and intriguing sound. She released her debut EP “Big Love” in 2007 and has just completed a new full length record entitled "Solitary World" which will release in Spring 2012. It was produced by Mark Ephraim (Neko Case, The New Pornographers) and with an all-star band featuring Mark Ephraim, Parker Kindred (Jeff Buckley, Joan as Policewoman, Antony and The Johnsons), Tyler Wood (Joan as Policewoman, Chester French) and Simon Shippey (Custom Blue, Ed Valance) (Sneak peak of a few songs on music player :).
To her fan base, she is known for her moving, soul-stirring songs and performances.
